Challenge
Our client engaged Telos to undertake a review examining the capability of the emergency management system in operation and to assess the readiness of the organisation to effectively respond to an emergency during its next operational phase.
Approach
The review consisted of an assessment of the existing emergency management system documentation followed by interviews with staff and contractors in person in the corporate head office in-country and via skype for the staff based at the Central Processing Facility (CPF).
Solution
The interviews and review of documentation highlighted common areas within emergency preparedness and response which required improvement.
The interviews provided an opportunity to assess culture and appetite for change, and to gauge the effectiveness and maturity of the organisation to change.
Outcome
The Telos team identified several key areas with recommendations for improvement including:
- Emergency response framework
- Governance documentation
- Resources and Training
- Field operations
